Refund Policy
Last Updated: 6th January 2026
At Utilery, owned and operated by UTILERY SOFTWARE OPC PRIVATE LIMITED,
we value our customers and aim to provide a fair and transparent process for refund requests. This policy
outlines how refunds are calculated and processed based on our "pay-for-what-you-use" model.
1. Eligibility for Refunds
Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the original transaction. To be eligible
for a refund, you must provide proof of purchase and a valid reason for the request. Once a digital credit
or utility has been consumed, the associated portion of the payment is non-refundable.
EU/UK Consumer Notice: Under applicable consumer protection laws, by purchasing and
accessing our digital utilities, you explicitly acknowledge that you lose your statutory 14-day right of
withdrawal once the digital performance (credit usage) has begun.
2. Refund Calculation Logic
The final refund amount is determined by the following rules:
- Deduction of Used Credits: The value of any credits, units, or automated services
already consumed within the application will be deducted from the total original payment amount.
- Fractional Rounding Rule: If your usage results in a fractional unit (e.g., partial OCR
processing or data conversion), the deduction will be rounded up to the closest higher whole
currency unit.
Example: If you have used 1.3 currency units, the system will deduct the cost of 2 full currency
units from your
refund.
- Return of Remaining Balance: After the deduction of used credits and applicable
rounding, all remaining balances will be credited back to the user.
3. Processing the Refund
- Original Payment Method: Refunds will be processed back to the original payment method
used (e.g., Credit Card, UPI, Net Banking).
- Timeline: Once approved, it typically takes 5–7 business days for the
amount to reflect in your account, depending on your financial institution.
- Third-Party Fees: Please note that non-refundable convenience fees or taxes charged by
third-party payment gateways at the time of purchase are not recoverable and may not be refundable.
4. Non-Refundable Scenarios
Refunds may be denied if:
- The request is made after the 14-day eligibility period.
- The account has been terminated due to a violation of our Terms and Conditions (e.g.,
unauthorized API scraping or reverse engineering).
- All credits in the purchased pack have already been fully consumed.
- The refund request is deemed fraudulent or an abuse of the "pay-for-what-you-use" system.
