Filter Invoices & Highlight GST

The Challenge

Our customer deals with a large volume of invoices every month. These invoices come in PDF format and are a mix of transactions with and without GST (Goods and Services Tax) information.

Manually sorting these invoices was a tedious and error-prone process. The team had to:

• Open each PDF file individually.
• Search for GST information within the document.
• Identify if the invoice contained the necessary data.
• Manually move the matching files to a separate directory for further processing.

This repetitive task consumed hours of valuable time every month and was a significant bottleneck in their accounting workflow.

The Utilery Solution

We developed a custom utility tailored to their specific needs. This utility automates the entire filtering and highlighting process.

How it works:

1. The user uploads a batch of invoice PDFs to the utility.
2. The utility scans each document for GST patterns and keywords.
3. It automatically filters out the invoices that contain GST data.
4. As an added bonus, the utility highlights the GST information directly within the PDF, making it instantly visible for verification.
5. The processed files are then provided for download, neatly organized.
